The Post House has recently been bought by owners, John and Janet Higginson; an absolute delight, and are so passionate about the industry and what they do. John continues to work in an architectural firm in Cape Town, but has made Greyton his home for his family. As for Janet, spent many earlier years modelling, qualified as a pastry chef and brings loads of hospitality experience to the table.

The Post House was originally constructed in 1860 and is one of Greyton’s oldest buildings. The building was used as a trading post and a place and lodgings for tired travellers. The main building which houses the restaurant and new coffee pod, also includes the pub, which is well-known for the Bells Whiskey advert and was also Greyton’s Post Office.

Our Classic Rooms are cosy and extremely comfortable. Each room has a patio with seating overlooking our gardens.With all amenities such as: Nespresso Machines, fully-stocked mini bars, vanity stations, earth biodegradable bathroom products, heating and cooling aircons, rooms with a combination of bath/shower.
Room facilities include: mini kitchenette, Air con, Wifi, electric blankets, carpets, safes, good linen and towels.

7 Deluxe Rooms

Each of our Deluxe rooms are individually decorated and beautifully furnished offering guests comfort away from home. All of the Deluxe rooms are en-suite, 4 of which have showers and 3 have Victorian baths with overhead showers. Each room has a patio with seating overlooking our gardens.
Facilities include: kitchenettes, air conditioners, carpeted, electric blankets in winter, good linen and towels

Honeymoon Suite

Our Honeymoon Suite has been tastefully decorated and beautifully furnished. This is a luxurious spacious room with a lounge. The perfect suite for newly weds or couples wanting a romantic evening away – a space to indulge. This suite has a large copper rimmed spa bath, a “his” and “hers” double shower and vanity station with a cosy lounge with a fireplace. Enjoy your freshly brewed coffee with your Nespresso machine or enjoy a glass of bubbles on the patio overlooking our garden.

Our Family Suite is geared up for just that! With two separate bathrooms and separate rooms including a lounge area – this room is the perfect hideaway for a family. With patio seating overlooking our gardens, and close to the pool – enjoy a lazy Summer’s day in the sun or curl up next to a cosy fire in Winter, over a glass of wine – or two! With all amenities such as: Nespresso Machines, fully-stocked mini bars, vanity stations, earth biodegradable bathroom products, heating and cooling aircons, rooms with a combination of bath/shower.

In-Room

Our rooms include to ensure your stay with us is a comfortable one: King / Twin beds, luxurious linen and towels, Healing Earth shampoo/conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. Our in-room refreshment station offers filter coffee, specialty teas, homemade biscuits, and bottled water. For guests comfort we also supply hairdryers facial tissues, cotton balls and earbuds. Heating and cooling air-conditioners keep things cool in summer and cozy warm in winter. Our rooms are serviced daily.
