Greyton Art Walk 17-19 November 2017

The weekend of 17 – 19 November 2017 will see an addition to Greyton’s cultural calendar. The village will be hosting the inaugural Greyton Art Walk. Greyton has a proud record of embracing the Arts and it’s envisaged that the Greyton Art Walk will become another much-anticipated annual event.

The inaugural Art Walk provides further reason to visit oursmall, peaceful, beautiful village nestled between the wintry green of the Overberg farmlands and surrounding mountains. There’s no better time to stroll along Greyton’s lanes lined with its distinctive traditional Capecottages dating from the mid 1800’s.

Greyton is one of the most visitedhamletss in the Overberg. We have a plethora of good restaurants and coffee shops, our very own craft- brewery, as well as antique purveyors and art galleries. For the more energetic there is horse-riding, bicycle rides and MTB trails, and numerous hiking routes of variable difficulty. The Conservation Society’s Saturday Morning Market oughtn’t be missed. After a long day wandering here and there, either on foot or by donkey-cart, put your feet up in one of Greyton’s luxurious guesthouses, B&B’s or self-catering cottages.A visit to Greyton is a privilege, an experience to savour.

Greyton Art Walk will provide all artists with an Overberg showcase. The Art Walk exhibits will be displayed throughout the village – in our art galleries, private homes, gardens and streets. In conjunction, there will be several demonstrations and workshops conducted and music to be enjoyed too.

Children’s art will not be neglected. Greyton Art Walk will exhibit the art of children in the community’ and that of art clubs. With great prizes to be won we encourage all children to discover their inner art and become part of Greyton Art Walk.

Visitors and all locals alike can look forward to viewing the work of over 30 artists, including our own well known David Kuijers, Catherine Paynter, Mariaan Emslie and Marina Aguiarext, Alida
Bothma , ex
